Our Committee

The Pre-School is administrated by a voluntary committee which can comprise of parents, grandparents, co-opted members and staff.

All committee members bring different skills and experiences to the group, and are a vital part of keeping the Pre-School running.

The committee has a chairperson, secretary, treasurer, fees clerk, provisions buyer, fundraisers and a rota clerk.

FUNDRAISING

A major part of a committee's work is fundraising.

We have several established events throughout the year such as -

our massively popular January Jumble Sale,

Sponsored Pancake Toss,

Easter Fayre,

Bags 4 School (recycling)

Christmas Card Fundraiser.

What does the fundraising money go towards?

Last year we updated our outdoor area with a gorgeous new mud kitchen - always a firm favourite- and created a lovely sensory garden.

We replaced our old storage unit outside.

We also plan to buy equipment to extend opportunities for physical play. Our most recent purchase is a fabulous water wall with endless fun and learning opportunities!

We have recently updated our outdoor planters so we can continue growing our own flowers and vegetables. This is in partnership with Men's Shed, Brundall.

We also fundraise by being a part of a website called easyfundraising

It is a free-to-use website that collects commission from the shops you have purchased from online. They then turn that into a donation and give it to your chosen good cause! To register and raise money for Hemblington Pre-School while you shop online, click the link below!

We completely understand people have many demands on their time but having a full committee shares the workload and brings a wider skill set to the table. We feel strongly that you should have the right information to make an informed decision so there will be lots of opportunities to discuss any questions you may have with the current committee. The more people we have then the workload can be shared – every little bit does help!

Do you may have an aptitude for gathering people together and delegating work?

-perhaps you could organise an event.

Are you a star at fundraising?

we are always looking at imaginative ways to raise money!

Do you prefer admin and ensuring correspondence and paperwork are effective?

it is essential that policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and reflect the work we do.

Being on the committee can be a great addition to your CV.

Norfolk County Council (NCC) provide free training to enhance your knowledge and skills and have produced a detailed Committee handbook.

You will also be supported by the outgoing committee and current staff who have held various committee positions previously.

We’re more than happy to answer any questions you have about this so ask away!

Thank you!
